Headless CMS

Indexa × Strapi

The leading open-source headless CMS, 100% JavaScript

MediumSetup: 10 minutes

Strapi is the most popular open-source headless CMS, built with Node.js and beloved by developers for its auto-generated REST and GraphQL APIs, role-based access control, and easy self-hosting. Indexa integrates with Strapi's REST API to auto-publish AI articles to any Content Type in your Strapi instance.

How it works

  1. 1

Create a Strapi API token in Settings → API Tokens with full-access or custom permissions for your blog Content Type.

  2. 2

In Indexa, enter your Strapi instance URL and API token, then map the blog Content Type fields to Indexa's article schema.

  3. 3

Indexa POSTs new entries to `/api/{content-type}` on schedule; Strapi saves them as draft or published based on your settings.

Why use Indexa with Strapi?

Self-host friendly — Indexa works with Strapi deployed on any server, cloud, or Strapi Cloud, with no network restrictions.

Custom Content Type support — Indexa maps to any Strapi Content Type, not just a generic article schema.

Relation field support — Indexa can assign Category, Author, and Tag relations to each published entry.

Draft & Publish workflow — Indexa respects Strapi's Draft & Publish feature, creating drafts for review or publishing immediately.

Requirements

  • ·Strapi v4 or v5 (both REST and GraphQL APIs are supported).
  • ·An API token with at minimum `create` permission on the target Content Type.
  • ·Your Strapi instance must be accessible via HTTPS from Indexa's servers.

Frequently asked questions

Which Strapi versions does Indexa support?

Indexa supports Strapi v4 and v5. Strapi v3 uses a different API structure and is not supported. We recommend upgrading to v4 or v5 for the best experience.

Can Indexa publish to a self-hosted Strapi instance?

Yes. Indexa connects to any publicly accessible Strapi URL. Self-hosted, Strapi Cloud, Railway, Render, and other platforms all work as long as the API is reachable.

Does Indexa support Strapi's component and dynamic zones?

Indexa supports simple field types (Text, Rich Text, Enumeration, Media URL). Strapi Components and Dynamic Zones require custom field mapping — contact Indexa support to configure.

Does Indexa work with Strapi's Draft & Publish feature?

Yes. You configure in Indexa whether new entries should be created as draft or published. Drafts appear in Strapi's Content Manager for your team to review before going live.
